I called Mini on Wednesday to schedule an appointment to have the ipod interface installed. I was told that there was a "nationwide shortage" on the part and it might not be in for months. (Yes, that's a nationwide shortage on the car part I need AND the medication I use.) So, after much hemming and hawing from the guy there, I find that they'll install it if I can find a genuine Mini part on my own. So I go home, go online and order said part. It should be shipping next week. Now, here's my question. Do I need mini to install this, or can any car stereo place do it? It seems to me that any place should be able to do it, but I want to be sure. Any input would be welcome.
